Rededication of Memorial for Unborn

On October 12, 2021 Christ The Redeemer Church held a service to rededicate the monument for the unborn from former Council property on Orion Road. The evening rededication service was led by Rev. Dr. William Promesso, pastor of Christ the Redeemer Church. Forty people attended the service, which was filmed by PGK Jim Roback and Brother Knight Tim Yoder. Knight Greg Korth arranged the transportation and installation of the movement, and Brother Knight Dennis Witmer arranged the service with Fr. Bill.

The rededication of the monument raised awareness of the Knights commitment to Pro-Life within the Christ The Redeemer community of 3,500 families.

Closure of the Council Hall and the sale of property necessitated relocating the monument. Rev. William Promesso recognized the importance of having such a monument at his newly assigned parish, Christ The Redeemer.

The solemnity of the procession and ceremony was witnessed by students, faculty, and parents involved with CTR’s evening school classes that occurred simultaneously with the rededication service. The Program marks a rejuvenation of Pro-Life activities at CTR. Members of CTR and its sister parish, St. Joseph Church, participated in the ceremony.

The Michigan State K of C Council has cancelled the 2020 State K of C Convention which will be replaced by a virtual online convention.

DD Joseph Brenner conducted a virtual District Meeting tonight, which FS K. Simpson missed. The Michigan State K of C is encouraging all K of C Councils to conduct their April Meetings by virtual or online until the Virus Shutdown is lifted. Our MI/ Tootsie Roll Drive will be rescheduled.
Brother Knights,

Due to the continued spreading of the virus all activities for our council are cancelled through April 30.

This may change based on future developments.

I hope and pray you are handling this and with the grace of God we will get through this horrible event.

Our faith is what we need to continue our daily activities and having faith will help us find ways to keep our minds and bodies active.

Simple stretching exercises for the body and playing games to keep our minds active will help.

I ask that we all pray the rosary every Tuesday evening at 7:00 just like we do at our council meetings.

Take a few minutes and call a fellow Knight to see how they are coping with the events that now control our daily lives.

May we all pray that we make it through this event with the least amount of burden.

May the Lord bless us and our families. Stay Safe, Stay Home, Stay Healthy

GK Jim
